چکیده

Abstract: In testing Discrete Event System, an important topic is determining the final state of the machine after the application of a test. Synchronizing and homing sequences have been proposed in the sixties to solve the problem using Mealy machines. A synchronizing sequence drives an implementation of a given model, seen as a black box, to a known state regardless of its initial state and the outputs. In this paper, we investigate how to determine synchronizing sequences using systems represented by a class of synchronized Petri nets. We propose an approach that can be applied to (not necessarily strongly) connected nets. Regardless of the number of tokens that the net contains, a synchronizing sequence may be computed in terms of the net structure, thus avoiding the state explosion problem.

Synchronizing sequences on a class of unbounded systems using synchronized Petri nets

Determining the state of a system when one does not know its current initial state is a very important problem in many practical applications as checking communication protocols, part orienteers, digital circuit reset, etc. Synchronizing sequences have been proposed in the 60’s to solve the problem on systems modeled by finite state machines. This paper presents a first investigation of the syn...

A Fuzzy Approach to Sequential Failure Analysis Using Petri nets

In highly competitive industrial market, the concept of failure analysis is an unavoidable fact in complex industrial systems. Reliability of such systems not only depends on the reliability of each element of these systems, but also depends on occurrence of sequence of failures. In this paper, a novel approach to sequential failure analysis is proposed which is based upon fuzzy logic and the c...

DSSZ-MC - A Tool for Symbolic Analysis of Extended Petri Nets

DSSZ-MC supports the symbolic analysis of bounded place/ transition Petri nets extended by read, inhibitor, equal, and reset arcs. No previous knowledge of the precise boundedness degree is required. It contains tools for the efficient analysis of standard properties (boundedness, liveness, reversibility) and CTL model checking, built on an objectoriented implementation of Zero-suppressed Binar...

Optimizing Algebraic Petri Net Model Checking by Slicing

High-level Petri nets make models more concise and readable as compared to low-level Petri nets. However, usual verification techniques such as state space analysis remain an open challenge for both because of state space explosion. The contribution of this paper is to propose an approach for property based reduction of the state space of Algebraic Petri nets (a variant of high-level Petri nets...

Model Checking Coloured Petri Nets Exploiting Strongly Connected Components

In this paper we present a CTL-like logic which is interpreted over the state spaces of Coloured Petri Nets. The logic has been designed to express properties of both state and transition information. This is possible because the state spaces are labelled transition systems. We compare the expressiveness of our logic with CTL’s. Then, we present a model checking algorithm which for efficiency r...
